Really? I've never tried it before. [ They have machines for that sort of thing on Krypton. ]

Never needed to. My family is mostly wealthy scientists. I lived a very privileged life before I came to Earth.

No worries; a lot of people on Earth haven't.

I do feel bad though. Here I am, expected to help people whose lives I can barely even imagine.

Yeah, well. I think it's a pretty stupid system all told.

I'm alive, aren't I? My family and friends are dead, my planet doesn't exist anymore, and I'm the last person alive with any memory of our culture, but I'm alive. [ The sarcasm is scathing. ] Thank Rao that someone is here to keep the memory alive. No pressure or anything.
